What it is...
If you listen carefully outside the Om Yoga Wellness Centre you can hear soft children voices barking like dogs, meowing like cats, roaring like a lion or hissing like a cobra at the same time using their imagination, creativity and strength to hold a posture.
In a fast paced, highly competitive and stress laden society it is imperative for children to learn to focus their minds, develop better concentration skills, acquire the art of relaxing the body and learn how to be still and peaceful within themselves. There are many Yoga programs for adults but very few specifically meant for young children. Yoga is something that can never start too young. Introducing the concept and practice of yoga to your children means that you are giving them an excellent start in life
We have developed a unique and holistic Yoga program, carefully tailored for 7-14 years old children, which we are currently running in other schools with very positive feedback from teachers and parents. Our objective is to prepare children to achieve physical and mental harmony through a combination of Asanas (Postures), Pranayama (Controlled Breathing), Laughter as Yogic exercise and Shavasana (Relaxation) carried out in a non-competitive environment.
Our Yoga for Children aims at achieving:
· ability to focus the mind and improve concentration and study skills
· balance of the right and left hemispheres of the brain
· strong, healthy, flexible bodies
· emotional intelligence and self-confidence
· effective stress-management skills and methods for releasing emotional stress
· healthy posture
· anger management
The aim of various levels of courses for primary school children is to give them a right start for a healthy and happy mind and body.
We have vast experience in teaching Kids yoga and has taught more than 4000 kids, a journey that started at home with our two daughters( Read more : Your Teacher)
